Thanksgiving on Maui

November 17, 2017

Spending time with family is an important part of making those cherished memories, no matter where you are. But if you find yourself trading the autumn leaves and chilled air for white-sand beaches with warm island breezes this Thanksgiving, you are in for a unique holiday experience that is sure to be unforgettable. While the usual Thanksgiving traditions may vary, here at Kahana Village each guest is part of our ohana which is why we would like to help you make this day especially special.

Looking for a traditional sit-down dinner without all the prepping and dishes? There are a number of Maui restaurants dedicated to creating a delicious meal for you to enjoy together. Or take advantage of being in paradise and board a sunset dinner cruise for a non-traditional Thanksgiving evening out on Hawaiian waters. It is important to keep in mind that if you are interested in either of these options, be sure to book your seat ahead of time as spots fill up quickly!

However for an intimate evening reserved just for you and your party, look no further than your West Maui home away from home. As one of the many reasons to stay at a Hawaii resort over a hotel, the amenities here at Kahana Village include fully-equipped kitchens with everything you could need to create a savory feast. You could even grill up a different take on a Thanksgiving meal on one of the barbecues that are available for guest use! While you make your way from the Kahului airport to the west side, just quickly pop into one of the island’s grocery stores to gather some festive ingredients. With ocean waves crashing and coconut palms swaying in the background, cook up a tasty meal together right here in paradise.

So if your Hawaii vacation overlaps with the holidays, we hope these ideas will help you plan the festivities here on Maui. And with the overwhelming amount of places to stay, we at Kahana Village are thankful for each of our guests and we work to show our appreciation beyond Thanksgiving. As part of that gratitude, we host a weekly Mai Tai Party for Kahana Village guests to kick back and enjoy a fun evening on us.
