We stayed in unit 3 which was beautifully updated and was very comfortable. It had everything you could possibly need from beach gear to cooking needs. The beds are about ready to be replaced, but they were still comfortable.
The unit has AC (some of the units do not so be aware of which unit you are looking at)
Our kids loved being able to go from the pool right to the ocean in 20 steps. The beach itself is really nice compared to some of the other oceanfront properties in the area. There beach itself is really sandy which was nice for the kids to play in. It's a bit more rocky in the water so having water shoes is a good idea but not absolutely necessary. There was decent snorkeling, we saw several turtles at this beach. So if you're looking for a place a little less "resort-like" but still oceanfront this is a great option. And at a fraction of the price!
The management was great. The dryer went out in our unit and they couldn't get anyone in to fix it till the next day so they gave us access to an empty unit so we could get our laundry done. That meant more to us than they probably know!
There is a gas station, general store, coffee shop, mcdonalds, maui brewery, chinese and sushi restaurants all within walking distance. It's away enough from the hustle and bustle of Ka'anapali and Lahaina that it's quiet and relaxing. But close enough that you can be there within 5-10 minutes.
Do not hesitate to book this place, you and your family will love it! read less

Loved the place so much we came back for our last week - Thanksgiving 2020. The grounds are so well maintained and you feel you are in a Hawaiian dream. The team at the Village was friendly and always there to help. They answered the phone each time! We have a special needs son that is 30 years old and we felt he was so safe here. The guests and staff were extra friendly.
About Unit 18 - You have spoiled us with all your amenities. We went to another condo in a different town and had to return before we left Maui. We will book here again! Unit #18 is a 3 bdrm and 2 bath with an updated kitchen, plus inside laundry and furnished tastefully. As our daughter who flew in from Atlanta said....."Kahana Village #18 is what you imagine when you book a Luxury Hawaiian Vacation." Photo: looking out of unit #18.

Every January we enjoy this property. The location is perfect. The grounds are well maintained. The management team is first rate as are all of the people you come into contact with. Really enjoy the fact that after sunset it is a very quiet and peaceful place

We have stayed at Kahana Village three different time and have alway enjoyed our stay. We stayed in two different unity on our last stay and we found the first unit we stayed in was very comfortable but a little dated compared to the second we stayed in.

Great faculties and location. Staff is the best! We have stayed there many times over the past 25 years and always look forward to our return. Close to wonderful beaches and Lahaina and Whaler’s Village.

Great beach, no people, truly a place to relax! Staff is super friendly and helpful. The units are beautiful and comfortable. Good location.

The condo is on the second floor of the building, and has fantastic view. The unit is only about 10 yards from the surf, and has a fantastic view of Lanai, Moloka'i, and the Au'au Channel in between. One of the best parts of our vacation was watching the humpback whales in the channel. If you're looking for a luxury vacation, there are lots of big resorts nearby. Kahana Village is for a lower-key experience. The other guests and residents were really friendly, and hang out together at the pool, spa, barbecues, and narrow beach. The cove at Kahana has a reef that is suitable for snorkeling and surfing, but there are a lot of rocks where the surf hits the sand. Napili Bay (about a mile away) has more sand, so it's more popular for snorkeling. Most of the surfers enter the water at Pohaku Park to the south of Kahana Village. It's really convenient that the condo has a nicely-equipped kitchen. On most of the days of our visit, we ate breakfast and lunch in the condo and went out for dinner. After arriving on Maui, stop at the Walmart or Target close to the Kahului airport to stock up on staples for the kitchen (which for us included beer). Shop at the Napili Market (about a mile from Kahana Village) for poke or other fresh food. If you're staying at Kahana Village, you're probably not looking for a really touristy experience, so you'll probably want to avoid the shops and restaurants to the south at Ka'anapali. The pool was perfect for our little swimmers. It is 3 feet with no deep end, so I was so confident with them in this pool. The room (Unit 9) was perfect for us. The room configuration was good, although I will caution parents that putting little ones upstairs might not be ideal as the bed is up right next to the upstairs balcony, so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our rambunctious four-year-old up there (he likes to jump on beds) and that would have been dangerous. Otherwise, the unit was perfect for a family. The kitchen is well stocked with plastic cups for kids, boogie boards, towels etc. Another note for parents, the beach is great to walk on (and ok for adult swimming) but it really isn’t great for kids. We loved the location since we could jump in the car to get to a kid-friendly beach, but if you are picking based on access to a beach for kids, this isn’t quite the place. We loved having the sand there, and seeing the sunset and walking on the beach, but you will need to head to another beach for swimming. Parking is great, right next to your room, no serious walking, so unloading gear in and out of the car was easy. I am so happy we stayed at... Kahana Village was a wonderful resort for our family.
