Best Places to Hike in West Maui

March 9, 2018

Spring is right around the corner and whether you are still looking to escape the cold or discover someplace new, there is a laundry list of reasons to spend your vacation time in the Hawaiian sun. Our favorite thing to do in West Maui here at Kahana Village is hiking the tropical outdoors, and it is not only a family-friendly activity but is also pretty kind to your Hawaii vacation budget.

So, where are the best places to hike in West Maui? We got you covered with our top three:

Lahaina Pali Trail
Arguably the “coolest trail on Maui,” the Lahaina Pali hike is one of the island’s more challenging excursions. While this 5-mile hike is most ideal for adventure seekers, anyone can enjoy it in pieces as it is fairly simple to turn back around if it begins to become too strenuous.  With incredible views ranging from ocean to mountain, you are sure to be treated to Maui’s beauty at any point on this trail.

Kapalua Coastal Trail
Perfect for those who would rather opt for a leisure stroll versus a full-on hike, the Kapalua Coastal Trail is a 3.5-mile boardwalk alongside 4 of Maui’s most beautiful bays! Alternating between a wooden pathway and a volcanic rock trail, this west side hike is flat and easy to navigate making it great for kids.

Kapalua Village Walking Trails
Wander through the tropical grounds of the old Kapalua golf course and discover panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean as well as the West Maui Mountains. Choose between 6 pathways that range between 1 and 4 miles long, and enjoy all that the island’s outdoors has to offer.

And if you are just looking for a simple way to enjoy Hawaii beyond your Kahana Village Vacation Rental, we invite you to meander through the lush grounds to the sandy shores that front the property. As one of the few rental complexes in Kahana with direct access to a beach, you will definitely want to enjoy the nature right outside your private doorstep.
