38th Annual Maui Whale Festival

38th Annual Maui Whale Festival

38th Annual Maui Whale Festival

One of the most rewarding parts of choosing to vacation in paradise is the luxury of walking onto the balcony of your oceanfront 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom condo rental to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee as the sun rises – or a glass of wine or beer as the sun sets. The view itself will leave spectators in awe and keeps visitors coming back once or even twice a year. Aside from our favorite human visitors, we also get the pleasure of being graced with the presence of the Pacific Humpback Whales. To honor these gentle giants, the Pacific Whale Foundations hosts a series of events during Maui’s peak humpback whale season, that locals and visitors alike can come and enjoy. Your Maui vacation would not be complete without participating in the 38th Annual Maui Whale Festival!

Since 1980, the Pacific Whale Foundation has presented the Maui Whale Festival as a way to stay true to its mission to protect marine wildlife and the ocean through conservation, research, and keeping the public aware. These events take place in the month of February and everyone is welcome to come join one of them or all!

Here is a list of some of the events being offered:

Run & Walk for Whales – February 10
Participants can choose from a 1-mile, 5k, 10k or 11.5-mile course in one of Maui’s largest run and walking event. Followed by a post-run celebration with entertainment, breakfast for participants, eco vendors, and prizes.
