No Maui vacation would be complete without a little shopping and what’s better than discovering one-of-a-kind local products made here in Hawaii? If you have been looking for a unique gift from Maui or that perfect souvenir to fondly remember your time here, join the community at the 4th annual Made in Maui County Festival for the best local arts and crafts along with ono (delicious) food! Held at the renowned Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC), just a mere hour from your West Maui condo rental, get ready to shop until you drop as over 140 vendors from Maui, Molokai, and Lanai have come together to share their island creations.
Originating on the island of Oahu, this Hawaii exclusive event has extended to Maui County! With the goal of helping these businesses grow, the first festival in the Valley Isle was held in November 2014. With the outstanding amount of vendors as well as the numerous volunteers, sponsors, and donors, the Made in Maui County Festival is the county’s largest product show. Fast forward four years later and this festival has grown to the incredible event that people look forward to each year.
Kicking off on November 3rd with an exclusive shopping day, first day festival attendees will have a special look at what this weekend has to offer. Entrance fees are $35 per person and children (12 and under) are free. Starting at 1:30 pm, totes will be passed out upon entry and the sneak peak will end at 6:00pm. Festival opening ceremonies are planned to begin at 4:00pm and to ensure no one is shopping on an empty stomach pupus (appetizers) will be served. All attendees of the first day will also have the chance to win a “Maui Getaway Travel Package.” Tickets are available at the MACC box office.
The following day, doors will open at 8:00am and the festivities will continue until 4:30pm! Entrance fees, $5 per person and children (12 and under) are free, can be paid at the gate as you head in. Throughout the day, you can experience exciting product demonstrations along with a fashion show while you peruse through the local products. We recommend getting there early as the first 2,000 attendees will receive a free tote, you’ll need it for all the goodies you will come across. Prize drawings will also be held throughout the day and food trucks will be available if you need to grab a quick bite!
This is the perfect community activity to do while on a Maui vacation. So drive down from your Kahana Village vacation rental to Central Maui and see all that Maui County has to offer!
